In connection with the celebrations over the birth of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) to be held on 12 Rabi ul Awal, an official ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places of Jordan under the auspices of King Abdullah-II at the Islamic Cultural Center, Amman. HRH Prince Faisal bin al Hussein was the Chief Guest of the ceremony whereas Jordan’s Minister of Awqaf, H.E. Dr. Wael M. Arbiat was the keynote speaker. The ceremony was preceded by the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem of Jordan.
The celebrations over the birth of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) are significant to the government and the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The teachings of peace, love, brotherhood and sacrifice by the Last Prophet (peace be upon him) were remembered with great enthusiasm and reverence on the occasion.
The event was attended by a large number of dignitaries comprising notable ministers, representatives of the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, officers from the armed forces, scholars, writers, academicians, senior leadership of the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy places, Jordan and members of the diplomatic community in Amman.
