The Embassy of Pakistan organized a series of Events regarding Kashmir Black Day during the first week of November, 2017.
On 1st November, 2017 the Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Literature and Cultural Saloon, organized a session on Kashmir. Prominent Jordanian Historian Mr. Omar Nazzal Al Armouti, the author of the first book on Kashmir Issue in Arabic language, moderated the event.
Dr. Samir Mutawa, Former Minister of Media of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, Mr. Omar Armouti and Charge d’ Affaires Ms. Saadia Wuqar un Nisa spoke on the occasion.
Dr. Samir Mutawa emphasized that the solution of Jammu & Kashmir dispute can be summarized in one sentence, that is: “give the people of J&K their right to self-determination”. Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani shared with the audience the situation in Kashmir and that Indian occupation has been rejected by the Kashmiris on ground.
Charge d’ Affaires, Ms. Saadia Wuqar un Nisa, in her remarks, highlighted the significance of Kashmir issue which has now become one of the longest humanitarian crises. She highlighted the Indian atrocities and gross human rights’ violations and called for active support from the world countries to end Indian acts of aggression in Jammu & Kashmir.
On the night of 1st November a dinner reception was arranged by Mr. Omer Nazzal Al Armouti in honour of Mr. Wani. Former Ministers of Media, Former Ambassadors and other prominent personalities attended the event. The participants expressed unequivocal support for the Kashmir cause and emphasized that Palestine and Kashmir are two sides of the same coin. Charge d’ Affaires Ms. Saadia Wuqar un Nisa and Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani expressed solidarity with Kashmir and highlighted the significance of early resolution of Kashmir issue on the occasion.
On 2nd November, Cleopatra News interviewed Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani and solicited his views on the situation on ground in Jammu & Kashmir.
In the evening, Pakistan Graduates’ Club organized a session on Kashmir Issue at the Club premises. Members of Pakistan Graduates’ Club expressed their unflinching support for the Kashmir cause during the session. Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, Charge d’ Affaires Ms. Saadia Wuqar un Nisa and former parliamentarian Dr. Issa Khashashne spoke on the occasion.
