A high-level judicial delegation from Pakistan visited Jordan from 17-20 April, 2017 and held wide-ranging meetings with senior Jordanian officials and counterparts. The delegation comprised 12 members and a faculty member of the 58th Shariah Course of the Shariah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad, as well as the Director General and two faculty members of the Punjab Judicial Academy Lahore.
The visit was aimed at learning from Jordan’s experience in the delivery of justice and sharing experiences on judicial systems of the two countries that will contribute to promoting mutual cooperation in the field of judicial training.
During their stay in Amman, the delegation was briefed about the Kingdom’s judicial system at the Jordanian Judicial Institute. The delegation also visited the Justice Palace and Shariah Judicial Institute and called on the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Judge and the President of the Supreme Shariah Court of Jordan.
The delegation later visited the Ministry of Awqaf and called on the Minister. The visiting delegation also visited Dar al Ifta’a and met with the General Mufti of Jordan. Separately, the delegation visited Wasatiya forum and held a meeting with the Secretary General. A meeting with Pakistan Graduates’ Club was also organized. The President of Pakistan Graduates’ Club and its members hosted the visiting delegation and exchanged views on different areas.
