34th International Arab Youth Congress (IAYC) was organized by the National Center for Culture & Arts (NCCA) of the King Hussein Foundation (KHF), in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein from 2nd August, 2015 to 9th August, 2015. The theme for this year is “Investing in Young People as Agents of Positive Change for Human Development’’.
Students aged 13 to 17 years from different countries were invited to participate in the event. Due to active approach & collaboration of the Embassy of Pakistan in Amman, for the first ever time, two student delegations from Pakistan participated in the event. These delegations were from City School System and Beaconhouse School System. Pakistan was the only country from which two delegations were allowed to participate. Other countries which participated in the event were Lebanon , Morocco, Palestine, Holland, Serbia, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirate, Libya and Jordan.
The overall performance of both Pakistani delegations remained outstanding. The students actively participated in all workshops & seminars organized under the congress. In addition, they also showcased Pakistani cultural songs & dances on 7th August, 2015 at the ‘International Artistic Performance’ event. The event was witnessed by a large number of Jordanians and other foreigners who appreciated the Pakistani students performances. At the closing ceremony, Pakistani delegation also presented a gift to Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein.
