His Majesty King Abdullah-II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is visiting Pakistan on a two day official visit on February 8-9, 2018. The King was received by President Mamnoon Hussain at the Nur Khan Air Base.
A 21-gun salute was presented to the visiting Monarch and a contingent of Presidential body guards presented a guard of honor. Children dressed in Pakistani attire presented bouquets to King Abdullah-II on arrival.
The Monarch was extended a red carpet reception at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi received the King at the welcome ceremony. National anthems of the two countries were played and contingents of the Armed Forces of Pakistan presented guard of honor to King Abdullah-II. Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder jets presented a salute to the dignitary while displaying a spectacular fly past.
During his visit, King Abdullah-II will hold talks with President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The two sides will discuss bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest. The visit will provide an opportunity to explore ways and means to strengthen cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest, particularly expanding bilateral trade and investment in Pakistan.
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan enjoy close brotherly relations with common perceptions on regional and international issues and matters concerning the Muslim Ummah.
The visit of His Majesty King Abdullah-II is expected to give a new impetus to the existing fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries.
